Much more than people’s opinions

I’ve discovered something recently and I am a tad pleased with what I’ve discovered. If you’d like to know what it is I’ll go further.. Shall I ? I used be quite a nervy person.. I had this terrible habit of taking criticism personally and wallowing in depths of negativity telling myself I was no good. This was merely because I gave too much premium to what people would think of me be it in family or at work.. I am glad to discover this is changing gradually .Perhaps because I no longer lay too much importance on how people size me up. I have figured over their years their opinions are just that opinions and perceptions they have their own judgement, biases and what they think of me may not actually define who I really am. That doesn’t mean I am not open to suggestions and constructive criticism..it only means I take negativity and biting words with a pinch of salt ( Perhaps my immunity has just gotten stronger 😆 ). A quote by Eleanor Roosevelt is something which I would love to live by ” No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” This is so true people can step all over you, make you feel lousy about yourself only if you let them do so.. and this is something that I am figuring out as I learn more about people around me  and life. I don’t mean to sound too preachy or pedantic.. this is merely an attempt to reflect over how I have changed and to rejoice the fact ..Yay I am growing up ..perhaps and not regressing as I always think 😀

Thanks Swaram you’re always a sweetheart ..Sure the quote is all yours you don’t have to even ask.. coz I never wrote it 🙂

  2. Very nice post. Really, if until we allow others to make us feel inferior, they can’t. We become what we think we are. If we think we are weak, we’ll become so. Mind is one thing which is truly ours. Let’s deny others the pleasure to make us feel low. Deny them the entry to our psyche 🙂

  3. nice LOI!!
It’s not preachy and as Meira says, quite liberating as well!
    It’s such a feel-good as well!
Don’t bother with negative criticism! Remember, you are unique and you rock! 🙂 🙂
