Sitting at the window sill
Watching life pass me by
I’d wait for the pieces
To fall together
For the mist to part
And make way
For fair weather
But then I discovered
The wait was ceaseless
Life isn’t a fairy tale or fable
Where things change at
The snap of a finger
Or Touch of A wand
I had to learn to clear the
Clouds in my head
And look beyond
To seize the moment
And take the bull by its horn
Instead of being lost and forlorn
It was time to be
The change I so yearned to see
What am I
But a tiny speck
In the colossal mortal sky
What is the Raison d’être
For my existence
To learn to resonate
Lessons of patience, fortitude
What do I want to be
An unchained, mellifluous melody
Reflecting on life’s each decision
I ask myself an inevitable question
What if I had traversed another path?
Would there have been another aftermath?
Had I heeded another voice?
Would that have changed my choice?
That is when it did dawn on me
Life’s a peculiar intertwine tween choice and destiny
What came my way wasn’t because I wanted it to
It wasn’t there just out of the blue
Everything that comes our way
Has a lesson that needs to stay
With us in the sojourn called life
All uncertainty, challenge and strife
Wasn’t entirely futile or hollow
Rather it had a deep message
Which we need to follow
Boulders and rocks in our path
Are meant to show
Us the beacon light
That helps us grow
As individual and shine bright
Kudos to the human spirit which is indomitable.and it’s amazing abillity to bounce back from the worst of situations. We all go through life, sometimes stumble our way through it..make mistakes, make wrong choices..are down in the dumps.sometimes it is a ..heartbreak,losing a job, bouncing back after a grave illness…We’ve all seen people rise from the ashes like the phoenix…It is nothing but resilience that helps people survive and thrive.Life always gives us a second chance provided we are willing to see it.. These setbacks and experiences shouldn’t leave us feeling trapped or less about ourselves instead they are signs that something better is waiting around the corner.. I remember a friend in college who would lament and cry over the number of failed relationships she had behind her..But the same girl today moved on and is a happy, much married girl .. Had she allowed her past to haunt her, would this have been possible ? We often cling and hold on to the past and judge ourselves too harshly over a failed relationship or job.. What we need to see was that each of these merely happened because we had a lesson to learn from them.at that point in time.. We don’t need to carry these as albatrosses around our necks..The very fact we were able to tide over these trying times means we had to courage to go on… There is no use clinging to mistakes of the past,or worry over how we may handle what lies in the future. Lets just take each day as it comes and welcome it with open arms lets embrace all that life brings our way…
Hope tell you there is light at the end of the tunnel which is dark..
Hope is what keeps you going like the soothing song of a lark
Hope is what should be trusted not your fears.
A smile is what you ought to face life with not just tears…
Hope helps you triumph and move ahead in life
hope is what helps you sale through conflict and strife
Hope helps you overcome the pain..
Despite a tumultuous storm, hope keeps you sane.
To hope against hope , people say is all in vain..
But to keep the flame of hope burning despite the odds is the biggest gain…
Yet another session of notes to myself.. I feel I am becoming too much a of a cynicist…so thought I’d remind myself of the undeniable power that faith, hope and optimism bring to one’s life.. It is good to be in sync with reality, but one should never stop looking at the glass of life as “half full”
