Stories Scars Speak

The wounds

That once

Festered and

Bled as

If they’d

Never heal

Now have

Turned into

Scars and

Are starting

To peal

They unfold

A narrative

Of their own

Of times

When

We tripped

Slipped

Or walked alone

From

Scars they

Will turn

Into stars

That we’ll

Wear on

Our soul

Cause they

Were our

Bridge to

Becoming whole

Frozen In Time

They

Get trapped

In your consciousness

Frozen

In the landscape

Of the mind

Sometimes

Leave indelible

Scars

And you

Become a

Spectator

Sometimes

Give you

Anecdotes

And you

Become

A Raconteur

Then

Through

The alleys

Of time

They revisit

You

Enticing

You into

Facing

Them again

Flooding

Memories

Of that

buried pain

Holding On

As these Moments

Slip from

The space

Between my

Fingers

I clutch

Them warily

Wanting their

Fragrance

To linger

I cling

To them

In the

Distant anticipation

That in these moments

Will I find

Liberation

From my life’s

Banality

Closure

Ambling on

I try winding

Up on a newer road

A road not strewn

With our memories

Where do I find

Such alleys

Where the waft

Of wind doesn’t

Bring your fragrance

A path where I

Don’t get unsettled

By your constant presence

The heart knows

I can never move on

I can only accept

You as a fragmented

Part of me
As I limp towards

A new dawn

Bittersweet Musings

The ravages of time

Have started to tell

The roses have now

Lost their smell

The crisscross patterns

We lovingly knit

Are starting to stretch

Bit by bit

The promises we once

Meant to keep

Now do seem

A little to steep

But there are some things

That remain

The love, the pain

Memories of many

A walk in the rain

The love we feel

The magic we weave

Are just a few things

Which simply refuse to leave

Facing Your Fears

They crawl all over our fragmented soul

Like a supple snake curling around a tree

They burn you like smouldering coal

And never let you break free

It starts with a slight spark

And then leads you into

The dismal dreary dark

They feed on your   anguish

And then nothing can extinguish

Their sweltering flame

They cage your being

There’s no point fleeing

The only way to exorcise these demons

My friend

Is to face to look them in the eye

and face them till the end
