It was never going to be an ordinary day

The rustling gust of wind

and the raging storm

mirrored her tempestuous soul

The dam of silence

and forbearance

finally broke

The voices

in her head

were beginning to choke

It was the end of innocence

She could no longer

be a silent spectator

sitting on the fence

One by one the

words began to pour

The silence found

words bereft of scour

The naked truth

was for all to see

She felt the shackles

and chain of her

mind break free

She knew the demons

and fiends

would no longer

haunt her mind

She walked towards

the rays of hope

Leaving

a scarred past behind
