Where There’s A Will…..

Just saw a staging of Mahesh Dattani’s ” Where There’s A Will ” . It is multilayered play with humour interspersed to make it a light and frothy watch.. The story of Hansmukh Mehta an astute pompous Gujarati businessman who leaves his family perplexed with the strange will that he leaves behind. It explores father-son relationship and how  men seldom emerge from the shadows of their fathers and end up emulating their lives, dreams instead of pursuing what they want from life. What makes the play even more interesting is the presence of Hansmukh Mehta’s ghost in the second act who kept the stage alive with his antics.. The actors playing the protagonists wife- Sonal, Son- Ajit and DIL – Preethi also did justice to their parts.. In all a worthy way to spend a winter evening
